Newcomer Flynt Set to Disrupt Electric Van Market

A Netherlands-based start-up focused on electric vans is gearing up to introduce a new 3.5-tonne electric vehicle in 2026, built on a custom platform developed by China’s GAC Group Automotive.

According to Flynt, the new model—already publicly unveiled—sits on a flexible EV architecture that supports both left- and right-hand-drive configurations and emphasizes a "digital-first" user interface. The battery-powered van is set to enter the market after Farizon, targeting the EV and light commercial vehicle segments exclusively.

Equipped with a 100kWh battery, the van boasts an efficiency rating of 20kWh per 100km (equivalent to 3.1 miles per kWh) and uses an 800V electrical system. This allows for AC charging at 22kW and DC rapid charging at up to 220kW, delivering a 30–80% charge in just 20 minutes.

It also supports both vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, offering a maximum range of 500km (310 miles). Buyers will have the option of front-, rear-, or all-wheel drive.

Depending on the body configuration, the van will offer a payload capacity of up to 1,630kg and cargo volumes ranging from 8.7 to 16.5 cubic meters.

Flynt says it is working alongside leading Chinese automotive partners to develop what it describes as a “next-generation, asset-light manufacturer” built around a fresh, customer-focused business approach tailored for the EV era.

For its debut model, the firm is partnering with MiracoMotor, a GAC-backed company specializing in electric light commercial vehicles.

Flynt’s founder, Daniel Kirchert, commented: “We’re not a traditional automaker. Our approach is more agile and customer-centric, leveraging top-tier global tech to deliver premium electric vans more quickly and efficiently than established brands.

Rogan Liu, founder of Flynt, adds "By integrating this advanced EV technology into a vehicle specifically designed for Europe, we’re able to achieve a level of efficiency, reliability, and performance that directly translates into lower total cost of ownership.

“It’s a product built not just for today’s expectations – but for tomorrow’s operations.”

“We’ve spent the last 18 months in constant dialogue with customers across Europe – from logistics to construction to service fleets," adds Laura Peschke, Flynt’s co-founder.

"This vehicle is the result of that ongoing co-creation process. It reflects real needs, not assumptions. Being close to the customer isn’t just a strategy for us – it’s who we are."

Flynt will begin its European roll-out in 2026, with a phased expansion across all 26 target markets in the region, including the UK.
