Isuzu D-Max EV: UK Pricing Confirmed

Isuzu UK has announced pricing and key specifications for its upcoming electric pick-up, the D-Max EV, ahead of its expected arrival in early 2026. The electric version of the popular D-Max brings zero-emission capability to a vehicle segment still dominated by diesel, positioning Isuzu as one of the first mainstream manufacturers to market a fully electric work-ready pick-up in the UK.

Isuzu D-Max EV: UK Pricing Confirmed

Pricing and Model Range

The D-Max EV will be offered in three configurations, with pricing set as follows (excluding VAT):

  • eDL40 Extended Cab: £59,995

  • eDL40 Double Cab: £60,995

  • eV-Cross Double Cab: £62,495

These prices mark a significant step up from the diesel D-Max, which starts around £36,755. However, Isuzu is pitching the EV as a long-term investment for businesses, offering zero emissions and commercial-grade utility.

Launch Timing and Availability

Orders for the D-Max EV will open in late 2025, with first deliveries expected from March 2026. This early launch gives Isuzu a first-mover advantage over forthcoming electric pick-up rivals such as the Toyota Hilux EV and Ford Ranger EV.

With fleets facing increasing pressure to decarbonise, Isuzu’s head start could prove beneficial in securing early contracts and customer interest.

Powertrain and Working Capability

Designed for commercial use, the D-Max EV features a dual-motor setup producing 188 bhp and 325 Nm (240 lb ft) of torque, powered by a 66.9 kWh battery. It also includes four-wheel drive and a Rough Terrain Mode, underlining its off-road and worksite credentials.

  • WLTP range: 163–164 miles

  • DC charging: 20–80% in approx. 1 hour (50 kW)

  • Payload: 1,000 kg

  • Towing capacity: 3,500 kg

These figures put the EV on par with its diesel sibling when it comes to utility, though the range may limit its suitability for longer-distance rural operations.

Standard Equipment and Suspension Changes

Standard kit across all trims includes:

  • Touchscreen infotainment system

  • Digital instrument cluster

  • Dual-zone climate control

  • Heated seats

  • Front and rear parking sensors

The range-topping eV-Cross adds a premium sound system and exclusive Dolomite White Pearl paint.

Notably, the EV ditches the traditional rear leaf springs in favour of a De Dion suspension setup, aimed at improving comfort and road handling.

Visually, the D-Max EV retains the styling of the diesel model, with subtle EV-specific touches such as blue accenting.

As of now, no additional government grants have been tied to this launch, but operators are advised to monitor gov.uk for any changes to EV support for commercial vehicles.

With confirmed pricing, competitive towing and payload figures, and a focus on commercial usability, the D-Max EV gives buyers another option in the slowly growing electric pick-up segment. Its appeal will likely depend on how well it balances range, cost, and daily operational needs when it arrives on UK roads in early 2026.
