Maxus eDeliver 5 at the CV Show Launch
What do we know about the Maxus eDeliver 5 so far?
Full details of the Maxus eDeliver 5 were revealed at the CV Show several months after its flashy unveiling in Nanjing, China (pictured above).
Produced by SAIC Maxus, the Chinese parent company of Maxus, which is distributed in the UK by Harris Maxus, the eDeliver 5 is of a similar size to other popular medium-sized vans like the UK's best-selling Ford Transit Custom and the Renault Trafic.
Despite its Chinese debut, details were initially sparse, but now we have all the key information about the new van. Based on the name, it was clear that the eDeliver 5 would be larger than the eDeliver 3, but we were told it would have a load space between 6m3 and 8m3. However, upon its launch, we found that the eDeliver 5 has a more specific range of sizes.
This is because the eDeliver 5 will only be available in one wheelbase length but with two roof height options. As a result, it offers a cubic volume of either 6.6m3 or 7.6m3.
SAIC has also developed a new platform for it, called MILA (Medium-sized All-electric Platform), which is the same platform used by the eDeliver 7.

Initially, it was thought that the eDeliver 5 would use the 74kW battery from the slightly larger eDeliver 7, but instead, it features a smaller 64kWh battery. Even with this smaller battery, the eDeliver 5 offers a combined range of 208 miles, according to the WLTP test cycle.
